I watch through the open window doors as the chilled wind flows over clearing blue skies from dark clouds and open my wearied eyes to appreciate the scene more fully. I can feel and hear the restless voice of yours, and smell the fragrance of your curly hair.

I continue to watch as the blue sky gets cleared so does my doubtful mind.

The sun rays playfully leapfrog across the trees and road until one, with almost a timid curiosity, creeps up the side of the wall and into my room, where it bathes your sleeping form in an ethereal light. Your back is to me so I can’t see your face, but I watch in fascination as the beam begins to caress your flesh.

It begins at your feet, then slowly works its way up to highlight your perfectly toned legs, the swell of your womanly hips and finally, the graceful arch of your back.

I feel my heart race faster as the sun light spreads across your body and feel an absurd jealousy at its silky exploration.

“Come see what I see”, it seems to say and for one brief instant I have to fight back a maddening urge to come to you. I have unconsciously risen partly from my chair before I catch myself and with an odd reluctance, settle once more back into place to watch and wait.

There is something sensual and ultimately magical about the way the beam takes it’s time, melting into your skin and becoming one with it. I am mesmerized as it gently seduces your body with its light, featureless fingers and feels a jolt run through me as it explores you and all of your mysteries.

It continues its gentle violations and I hear you moan softly in your sleep, the sound is both sultry and haunting and I feel the breath catch in my chest.

This delicate probing which encompasses both the senses and the eye, goes on until the sun has completely risen, then, like a satisfied lover, the sun rays slowly covers all your body.

I sit for a moment longer, then stand up and stretch. As I make my way over to bed, I trace the intricate patterns that have been coming in my head. What can be more real and deeper than this thought of having you in my life.

I close my eyes again,

I lie down beside you and hear you let out a contented sigh. “I love you”, I whisper, then close my eyes. The blue sky is clear of dark clouds now.

Whether you here or not. Whether you with me or not. You are and you would always be alive in my thoughts.
