Shocked ? or rather thinking that what this stupid is talking about ?
Have patience my friend. This is a real story, which came to an end just few days back.
Ishaq named after Issac, as told by locals was a meritorious child, who scored 98% in 10th and 85% in 12th. These marks speaks a lot about mental ability of this child, I mean frankly speaking to me those were dream marks. And this earned him name Newton. He was highly respected and was an ideal for majority of local youths, who had high hopes from him. His parents wanted him to be a scholar while neighbours use to say he will certainly become a doctor, as he was preparing for CET.
But guess, destiny had some other plans for him. One day he left to submit college form and did not return after that. It was somewhere in 2015. He was still 19 years. Yes, was a teenager and a probable future for his parents.
On march 3rd he was laid to rest in his native village. He died in an encounter. And a small inspirational beautiful story of a hardworking child came to an end.
I am still in a sense of denial in accepting this true story. I mean, how can a young child who worked hard to score top marks got swayed away to take up arms. I thought a lot and still thinking about it. Somewhere down in my heart, I am feeling the pain of his parents, family and friends who saw him as a talented bubbly teenage boy with loads of aspiration.
Do you know something, I think we all as nation and citizen of India have failed and are responsible for this tragic story. It won’t be wrong to say that majority of Indians would not even bother to understand the situation of people of Kashmir.
We all call it Integral part of India and yet we fail our brothers and sisters of Kashmir. How many of you have demanded from government to provide basic amenities to the people there in Kashmir ?
A militant is not born in a womb. He is created by circumstances and we all as a society are responsible for it in some way or the other. I fully disagree with terrorism, as bloodshed can never bring happiness and peace. But I will reiterate that we have done nothing for the people who need out support.
Kashmir has one of the worst employment rate of country. The economy majorly depends here upon tourism. There’s hardly any industry or even a plan to setup industry which could raise hope for employment. The flood of 2014 have broken the backbone of majority of Kashmiris. They have lost business, saving and even their house. The step-motherly attitude of government in providing support to it’s people have fueled their problems further. Meanwhile, the infrastructure of Kashmir is in shambles. Roads, hospitals, schools are literally screaming for help.
Both Central and Local government have failed to provide better future to people of state. Majority of youths in Kashmir are today unemployed. Not because they choose to, but because they are forced to. What do you expect youths to do then when they literally have nothing to do ? They will do exactly what youths all over world are doing when they see no future and Kashmir is not an exception. Yes, they are moving towards Drugs and Violence. And I hold political class of this country responsible for this.
Just like youths of any other state of India, even Kashmiri Youths are future of India. Stop this step motherly treatment and embrace them with open heart.
The day political class will realise and start treating Kashmiri People as their own and equal with other citizens of nation, that day onwards Kashmir will flourish and Saffron will bloom all over.
